Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC) is a progressive and innovative higher learning institution with seven distinctive faculties located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and had been established since year of 1991. Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC) now offers a one year pre-university foundation programme level in Science (Foundation in Science) designed for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates who wishes to pursue a career in the science field majorly in engineering and information technology.
It takes one year which is equivalent to three (3) semesters to complete this foundation with minimum requirement to be fulfilled which are minimum 5B’s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics subjects and at least pass in English subject with other qualifications as recognized by the Malaysian Government. Excluding, for those students who wish to apply for Medicine course, Bahasa Malaysia is a required to be a credit. KLMUC seek to offer affordable quality tertiary education supported by high tech infrastructure and experienced lecturers by that through the learning methodology, KLMUC provided lecture –led and by power point slides for the teaching in class plus with tutorials, assignment and group discussions that will enhance student’s better understanding towards that certain subject. More, role plays and on-campus practical are the area of expertise in KLMUC teaching methodology.
For program structure, subjects such as Islamic studies/ Moral studies, English I, Mathematics I, Biology I and Computing Application are included in semester one subjects. While in semester 2 students will be edify with subjects such as Malaysian Studies, English II, Mathematics II, Chemistry I and Physics I. In semester 3, Biology II, Chemistry II, Physics II, and also Critical and Creative Thinking subjects which will be introduce soon are included in program structure. Students that graduated through this foundation will be able to continue their education into higher level major in engineering and information technology which endow with courses like Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Telecommunication, Information Technology, Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying for three (3) years otherwise the students can continue their studies in science field with assortment courses provided such as in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, Physiotherapy, Food Technology or Environmental Health.
By pursuing in this foundation level program, students will experience massive benefits akin to opportunity in continuing their studies into degree programmes level either locally or in the foreign country in addition the value -added Intensive English programme. With highly qualified professional academic staff and small class size with 30 students per class will enable the students to be more understand and concentrate during lesson time. The examination and assessment are made by Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College which is also awarded this Foundation in Science programme level.
